A large 'chunk' of stone is sliced into slabs using a lapidary slab saw. If the slice is of a specific size and has a lot of a beautiful colour and\/or pattern, we will prepare it to become a coaster or a clock.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe surface of the rock slab is then ground on a vibrating flat lap, with varying grits as required, to smooth away saw marks and prepare the surface for polishing. After about a week of grinding it is then returned to the flat lap for another week to polish.
