While the shapes and findings vary, each pair is connected by the same handmade retro cane pattern.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHow I Make the Pattern\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe pattern starts with individual blocks of coloured polymer clay.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI roll out each colour and cut circles from the clay, then stack the circles in a set colour order to create a layered log. The log is placed inside my clay extruder, fitted with a square disc, and pushed through to create a long square rope of compressed colour.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThat's where the pattern starts to take shape.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI cut the extruded rope into equal lengths and stack those pieces together to form a larger square cane. The cane is then sliced into thin \u003cstrong\u003e2–3 mm sheets\u003c\/strong\u003e. I lay each slice beside the previous one and gently roll them together to create one flat sheet of continuous retro pattern.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe individual earring shapes are cut from this sheet.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBecause every cut comes from a different section of the cane, the colours and pattern placement change from one piece to the next. Even the two earrings in a pair won't be completely identical. That's part of what makes each pair unique.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter cutting, the clay pieces are baked and finished before I assemble each pair by hand using coordinating \u003cstrong\u003egold, rose-gold or silver-tone findings\u003c\/strong\u003e, depending on the design.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStyles and Sizes\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThere are \u003cstrong\u003e10 designs\u003c\/strong\u003e in the Red Retro Collection, ranging from simple patterned studs to larger multi-piece statement earrings.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSizes range from approximately \u003cstrong\u003e1.2 cm for the smallest studs to around 5 cm for the larger statement designs\u003c\/strong\u003e.
