The timber is sanded through progressive grits until smooth and the grain is fully revealed. A channel is then cut precisely through the face and a solid brass strip is fitted flush from 12 to 6, serving as both hour marker and design element. Multiple hand-applied coats of protective varnish are then built up across the face, enhancing the depth and warmth of the grain with each layer. Gold tone hands and an American-made Takane movement complete the clock before a final quality check.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eNo two Meridian clocks are identical.
