I wanted to showcase the leaf in all it’s beauty without destroying the delicate veins showing through, so I used a soft autumn-toned glaze of gold, green, orange, and hints of red and blue. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe clay body is white stoneware, after drying the piece very slowly for several weeks it survived the first firing in my kiln, next step, I applied a red iron oxide wash and the texture of the leaf came to life. I then applied a beautiful glaze called Sand and Sea in layers to create the Autumn tone, fired again to 1260 degrees for 16 hours.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA beautiful result, I’m so happy with this piece.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt’s a One-of-a-kind, designed to bring warmth and organic elegance into your home, a Statement piece to use and enjoy.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHandmade by me (Tara) in my home studio, near Mildura.
