About Eklectic Mix

Hello, hello my name is Jennifer, I hail from that big patch of green grass on the other side of the world called Ireland.

My nana sewed, my aunt sewed and now I sew. I sew lots of things, many things, everything and anything. My head is bursting with so many ideas and my sewing room is bursting with fabric.

I'm a graphic designer by trade and have also spent many years as a screenprinter. I love colour, texture, vintage fabrics, retro shoes, chocolate, music, fruit and recycling.

Speaking of recycling, where possible I use as many eco friendly practices as I can when creating my garments and accessories. Not one for wasting anything I strive to, save remnants from landfill, reclaim high quality recycled fabrics, use genuine vintage fabrics and pull apart and reassemble pretty much most of the time. Yes occasionally I see new beautiful cottons that I can't resist so they go into the make and create room too.

My store, as you can see, has a variety of items all handmade by me, so yes I tend to branch out into different things every now and then. All of my items are either one off pieces or very limited edition. This to me is something that I like as a customer. The idea of owning a handmade one off piece is something I relish in so have echoed this idea in everything I make.

I love to create things and when people love the things I create it makes me happy, simple as that.

Look out for my new range of eco friendly jewellery called "Natural versus Industrial" which features a collection of necklaces made from recycled beads sourced over many years.

Have fun, sláinte.

Jen
