About The Felted Suffolk

At the felted Suffolk all the wool starts from my beautiful Suffolk sheep, they are raised in paddocks and fed hay when pastures are low (during the warmer months). Once the sheep are shorn, I skirt and sort each fleece which the skirtings go on the garden or in the compost, then the sorted wool gets washed using environmentally friendly methods and dried. From there the wool is picked (my least favourite and longest task of picking out the vegetable matter!) and then if the wool is destined for dying it is weighed out and dyed then dried, then all the wool is then carded before being turned into pieces of art for you all to enjoy!
