About Wil's Special Needs Wear

I started making bandanas several years ago when my youngest daughter was diagnosed with a life-limiting disease that left her with substantial brain damage and unable to swallow properly. She has since somehow rallied, and no longer needs the bandanas, but I have been gifting them to friends and family ever since.

A year ago my mum-in-law moved in with us after my father-in-law passed away unexpectedly. She has dementia, and needs 24/7 care, which we are blessed to be able to provide for her in our home. As her condition has progressed, she has needed clothing protectors. Being a sewer, I wanted to find an alternative to the more commonly used but ugly bib-styles available. And I found and adapted a design from an Alzheimer's resource page online. The end result is attractive, functional and most importantly, much more dignified for her.

I decided to offer the scarves for sale online, together with my original bandanas, as they have always been popular. Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit of what I am about.
