About LittleSnailStudio

I have been a Visual Art and Ceramics teacher at my local high school since I graduated from University with a BFA(Ceramics) and a BTeach 18 years ago. I love creating in my spare time, and have inherited a love of ceramics from my grandmother, who used to let me make little creatures from the icing she used to ice wedding cakes when I was little.

I have grown up in a beautiful part of the world and I love using aspects of the surrounding landscape and it’s unique creatures as inspiration. I also often find a line in a book or poem, particularly ones I've read as a child, that will conjure up some sort of image, and I use a variety of techniques to try and make my creations look like story book illustrations.

Each piece is handmade and my production batches range from 1 - 10 at a time. Pricing is based on the complexity of the design and the time taken to create it. Each item is hand-painted with underglazes before being bisque fired, then given an oxide bath to highlight textures and create an illustration-like quality. A variety of glazes are added before it is fired for a second time. Each piece is totally unique.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
