Blue in Monolithic

When Perfume Meets the Art of Rothko (No.3 in the Series)

This perfume is the final scent in the Sonic Alchemy Rothko Series where I’ve taken three paintings by Mark Rothko and interpreted them into the scent art realm. This fragrance is based on the painting “Untitled (Red, Blue, Orange)” created in 1955. One of the main ideas behind this perfume is the question of what would the colour blue smell like and how can you help people improve their relationship between smell and colour?

The heart of this scent is a massive overdose of blue chamomile oil which is responsible for its unbelievable dark blue colour as well as cyclamen, blue eucalyptus and a thin jasmine note. This combination of rare ingredients starts the perfume off with mysterious dark blue tones that slowly lighten into a radiant sky blue.

The accompanying notes in this perfume that embody the orange and red sections of the painting are South African tangerine, bitter orange and clementine oils along with a floral nuance of orange flower and champaca flower that tell a story of narcotic power around the blue core. Blue In Monolithic is a profoundly unique display of scent colour and playful imagination just waiting for you to explore its evolving soul.
