Northern Lights Bowl

A beautiful handcarved bowl made with a speckled stoneware clay and glazed with a combination glaze, width 22cms and 11cm high.
Perfect for a salad or for putting fruit in.

Each piece is thrown on the wheel and a few days later trimmed and carved to the required shape and design. I then wrap and leave to slowly dry until they reach the bone dry stage.
The pieces are then bisque fired to a 1000 degrees celsius, after this I sand and wash each piece ready to glaze. After the glaze has had time to dry I then fire them for a second time to 1220 degrees celsius.
Each unique item takes approximately 2-3 weeks to complete.

All pieces are glazed with food safe glazes and are dishwasher and microwave proof.
Handwashing is recommended for the longevity of your piece.
