Hedy Convertible Clutch - Black Splatter
This product is:
This product is:
Kangaroo leather Hedy Convertible Clutch, with 100% cotton lining. This purse can be used as a clutch, over the shoulder or cross body bag. The leather used was not processed according to plan at the factory, and has made a completely unique finish. The black finish has textures and paint movement. The lining is a cotton pebble print.
This design was named after Hedy Lamarr, actress, producer and inventor. While a Hollywood film star, at the start of World War II, Hedy co-invented a version of frequency-hopping spread spectrum communication for torpedo guidance. Like it’s namesake, this bag is glamours and multi-faceted, and is more than meets the eye.
The shoulder strap at it’s shortest is 79cm and fully adjusted is 140cm, measuring from each end of the swivel snaps. The strap is made from a flat black nappa leather that is a traditional finish.
Measurements are approximate as the leather is soft
20cm tall
28cm at widest
4cm wide gusset
How does it convert - metal press snaps inside will hold the tabs in place, simply unclip both sides of the strap, and snap the tabs inside to make a streamlined clutch bag.
There is a zipper gusset with a zipper with transparent tape and black teeth, and inside there is a small zipper pocket, lined with a a white background, black pebble print that matches the main black lining print. The hardware is a black colour combined with some gunmetal colours.
The leather is made in Australia. Bags are designed and made in my MEW Designs Studio (also known as a laboratory) in Brisbane Australia
This leather should be treated with additional care, some areas will be more similar to suede than a hardy chrome tan finish.
