Painted Lady Opal, OOAK sterling silver wire wrapped pendant

This is a rare pendant - an Andamooka Painted Lady opal wrapped in Sterling silver. This type of opal forms in tiny seams on a host of sandstone and when the rock is split this lovely thin layer of opal is revealed. Wrapped with Sterling silver wire the finished pendant is 35 mm long and comes on a free silver plated chain in an organza bag. A very different and beautiful gemstone, totally unique.

My Opals
I source my opals from local miners, cut and polish most myself. It's often a messy thing to do requiring a lot of patience and persistence, and a glorious delight to find that colour within a stone. I tend to like the unusual ones, the unique and different that are often overlooked yet bring such beauty. All opals are solid unless otherwise stated. The essence of Australia, a wonderful gift.
