Hedy Convertible Clutch - The Pill
This product is:
This product is:
Fluro yellow kangaroo leather Hedy Convertible Clutch, with 100% cotton lining, featuring a pill detail on the flap and matching pill print lining! This purse can be used as a clutch, over the shoulder or cross body bag. There is a back and white check zipper tape, with silver zipper pull.
This design was named after Hedy Lamarr, actress, producer and inventor. While a Hollywood film star, at the start of World War II, Hedy co-invented a version of frequency-hopping spread spectrum communication for torpedo guidance. Like it’s namesake, this bag is glamours and multi-faceted, and is more than meets the eye.
The pill design comes from my very geeky love of cyberpunk novels and a bit of an ode to the jacket worn by Shotaro Kaneda from the 80's animated manga movie "Akira".
The shoulder strap at its shortest is 80cm and fully adjusted is 145cm, measuring from each end of the swivel snaps.
Measurements are approximate as the leather is soft
20cm tall
28cm at widest
4cm wide gusset
How does it convert - metal press snaps inside will hold the tabs in place, simply unclip both sides of the strap, and snap the tabs inside to make a streamlined clutch bag.
Inside there is a small zipper pocket, lined with a rainbow swirl print.
The fabulous leather made in Australia, and the lining fabric was sourced from an Australian businesses. Bags are designed and made in my MEW Designs Studio (also known as a laboratory)in Brisbane Australia
As the leather is a natural product there may be slight variations in the texture and finish.
