"Haunting Metallica"

This was an interesting process:
1. I did layer 1 with Cretacolor Art Chunky coloured charcoal, using Nero soft, Graphite and Sanguine. I then rubbed them into the canvas with my finger (very messy!) and spritzed with water and alcohol.Once dry I sprayed with a Workable Fixative.
2. I then applied some paint (Zinc White, Off-white, Titanium Buff, Metallic Copper & Metallic Bronze). The paint didn't seem to like sitting on the fixative and became lumpy in places so I scraped it back for the "grungy" look and let it dry.
3. I then added Atelier Carbon Back Free Flow and Golden High Flow Quin. Nickel Azo Gold, spritzed with alcohol and water, and let it run.
4. I finished off with a selection of whites to give it a more ethereal feel.
I love these earthy colours so will be experimenting more with them in the future.
