Handmade Sterling Silver and natural Sea Glass Ring

This dainty ring makes a statement with its beautiful green piece of sea glass personally sourced the South East Coast of Australia. The colour varies in intencity and hue, depending on the light it's viewed in. It sometimes looks lime and sometimes emerald. I'll let you decide.
I set the unaltered glass piece in a Fine Silver bezel and back (999, giving the stone a glowing quality when light passes through.
The bezel was soldered to a sterling silver band that was hammered to compliment the organic properties of the stone.
The ring was given a brushed finish.

sea glass is approximately 1cm x 1/2 cm

Ring size: O 1/2 (7 1/2 US)

Band width: 1.6 mm

Sea glass comes from any glass object that was thrown into the ocean resulting in broken shards. Tides polish them over many decades to give them their characteristic frosty appearance with smooth edges, giving them a gem-like quality.
The unaltered shape of sea glass adds to the challenge of each design, making each piece unique.
