Upcycled Book Club

The Illustrated Stratford Shakespeare - handbag made from a book

This fabulous Novel Bag is made from an abandoned the world's greatest ever writer, William Shakespeare. Although exact dates for Shakespeare's life are a little sketchy, it seems that his first works were published some time in the late 1500s. They have been read and re-read and re-interpreted and debated and loved ever since. This copy featuring a portrait of Shakespeare himself, was found on the dusty shelves of the local op shop and re-imagined into this one-of-a-kind handbag. The silver findings and lining fabric beautifully compliments the design of the cover. Its handles are made from an upcycled belt and it closes with an elasticised loop and large silver button.

With a reinforced spine and measuring 21.5 x 15.5 x 5.7 cm (8.46 x 6.1 x 2.24 in)) it can carry your phone and a few other small personal items. It is an ideal gift for a lover of English literature, for a die-hard Shakespeare fan or as a treat for yourself. It is sure to draw comment and will compliment any outfit

Love comforeth like sunshine after rain,
But Lust's effect is tempest after sun.
Love's gentle spring doth always fresh remain;
Lust's winter comes ere summer half be done.
Love surfeits not, Lust like a glutton dies;
Love is all truth, Lust full of forged lies.”
William Shakespeare
Venus and Adonis
