Upcycled Book Club

A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens - Upcycled book - Handbag made from book

First published in 1859, A Tale of Two Cities is set in the years leading up to and during the French Revolution and tells the story of Dr Manette and his daughter Lucie. This classic piece of English literature has never been out of print and has been loved and hated in equal measure by generations of readers. This lovely edition was found languishing on the shelves of the local charity shop and has now been upcycled into this sophisticated Novel Bag.

The elegant lining fabric of deep red and black beautifully compliment the vivid red and gold design of the cover. It has large gold findings, gold book corners to protect its edges and closes with a simple elasticised loop and a black and gold button. The handles are made from an upcycled belt.

With a reinforced spine and measuring 23.5 x 15.5 x 3.5 cm (9.25 x 6.1 x 1.37 in) it is able to carry your phone and a few small personal items. It is the perfect accessory for a night on the town and is sure to be a great conversation starter. Whether you are a die-hard Dickens fan, an avid reader of literature or just love red things, this is the Novel Bag for you.

Upcycled Book Club is situated in Brunswick, Victoria. If you are in the area, convo me about a local pick up and avoid paying shipping costs.

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us......"
