Under my brand, Florifying Moments, I make floral creations out of different materials whether it's felt, resin or glass; making memories one bloom at a time.
Madeit is such an inspiring platform to be included in, for creators like me. I found a very supportive group of aspiring handmaidens and the website itself is very easy to manage.
I am mostly inspired by mainly flowers and nature, bright colours and any dreamy-like creations.
I discovered this hobby-slash-side-hustle when I had my daughter. When I started in 2018, I made a little craft space in my walk-in wardrobe, I was doing felt flowers back then. I was struggling as a new mum and needed a creative outlet.
One night, I grabbed some felt sheets and scissors then started cutting- turning them into little flowers, making a floral crown out of it. Every snipping and cutting sound provided some relief to my anxiety and stress.
Then I started venturing into preserving flowers for display. Eventually, I started getting positive support from other crafty moms and women online to continue what I was doing because it encouraged them as well.
I would push myself to make one flower project a day even when I did not have the capacity to do so after work, or after I put my bub to bed - simply because it was very therapeutic.
When we moved to NSW, I was lucky to have the help of my husband who set-up my creative space in the garage. There, I can do a little dance whenever I finish a product - without the judge-y eyes of my two fluffy cats. Haha!
A handmade product shows the passion, uniqueness, and hard work of the artist. Every time I buy a hand made product, I feel that whoever is behind it worked so hard to produce an item that will make their buyers happy. That is how I feel every time I make hand made creation for a customer.
